July 3, 2009
We had some very shattering news yesterday after his MRI. They have found that he has some bleeding in his brain. Not only that his frontal lobes are very badly damaged. He will not even make it through dialysis which he needs. The outcome is very grave. We are meeting with the doctor again tomorrow to discuss options for Noah and to make sure that he is not in any pain. He also seemed worse today, so we will need everyone's thoughts and prayers as we have to make one of the most difficult decisions we have ever had to make. Noah will just not have any quality of life. We are having him baptized tomorrow, and then get the strength to be with Noah in these very tough times. Thanks again for everyone's thoughts and prayers. He has touched so many lives and brought so many people close. We cherished everyday that we had with our precious baby boy.

7/01/09 Update
Today Noah had a good day again. He is still getting rid of all of the fluid by peeing. He still has a lot to pee out. They are still concerned about his kidneys because the function number is 5.2 and needs to be less than one. So, we are hoping that it will start to go down, or he will have to get dialysis. So pray for those levels to go down.
As far as his EEG yesterday the swelling has gone down, but they cannot tell us if that is brain swelling from his injury going down, or just fluid going down. The MRI will have to tell us that. We won't be doing an MRI until he is off his vent.
His movement has increased which is a positive sign. He has not opened his eyes, but he is moving his hands and feet. As well as his tongue and shows signs of irritation when they are messing with him. It is a slow process and we take it day by day. Thanks again for everyones thoughts and prayers, it means so much to us. We will update soon!!

Noah Lane Heitman
Noah was born at 3:17am June 23rd. He was 7lb 7oz. He was born with no heartbeat and not breathing. They had to rush me for an emergency C-section. They immediately put on a cooling blanket to help with swelling. He was taken off of that and warmed up on Friday. He does have swelling of the brain, kidney injuries and some blood issues. He has not been peeing which has lead to 4 lbs of water weight, so he is very swollen.
He however had a great day yesterday. He peed over 200 ml of urine which is the most he has done in 6 days combined. That is a wonderful sign. He also moved his hands and let us know that he is fighting in there. We have now seen him move since right when he was put on the cooling blanket. So, yesterday was a great day for us. I also wanted to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for Noah. I know that I have not been able to speak with everyone, but I am so thankful for all the calls and texts that we have been receiving. Michael and I thank you again from the botton of our hearts!! We will keep the blog updated once a day with his progress.
